Psalm 23: 1-3.
First and foremost, the Church of the Resurrection is a place of prayer and celebration of God’s living presence among us. The church serves the English speaking community of Bucharest.
All are welcome, whether committed Christian or first time “seeker”. Through our worship and the way we seek to live our lives, we point people towards the universal love of God.
It is a place where people find support and friendship, share in good times and times of difficulty and gain a sense of vision, direction and peace.
We also have a unique bridge-building role through our close relationship with the Romanian Orthodox Church (the chaplain being the Archbishop of Canterbury’s representative to the Orthodox Patriarch) and involvement in inter-church structures.
We do not ourselves have charitable funds but regular members of our congregation contribute both individually and through their work to meeting social needs in Romania. We act as a link and conduit through which charitable giving (clothes, food and so on) are channelled through local charities. More information on our links page
At the Church of the Resurrection, we operate an “open table” policy. All who come in good faith are invited to share Holy Communion, regardless of denomination. Children are welcome to share communion if that is your normal practise. We also have a lively Sunday School for the children and refreshments after the service. On the first Sunday of every month, we hold our popular bake sale. More information on our diary page.
We warmly welcome “seekers” with, as yet, no firm beliefs who are nevertheless looking for fulfilment and peace in a confusing world.
Sunday School – we welcome all children of all ages every Sunday. For more information, go to our Sunday School section.
